We believers know in our heart of hearts that God is always with us. But on a day-to-day basis, more often than not, we don't think about it much and at times probably doubt it. I talk to God daily. I have made it a point to not just say prayers, although there is nothing wrong with structured prayer. I prefer to talk to my Creator in more of a one-way conversation. My human brain still finds it hard to believe that this Creator of the universe has time for me.
God sometimes has to remind me in a very tangible way that I am wrong. In the wee hours of the morning yesterday, I found myself taking my dog outside to potty. Standing in the darkness, I glanced up at the night sky. I marveled at the beauty of the stars and said, "God, I wish I could see a shooting star." No sooner had those words left my lips, a magnificent meteor blazed across the sky! Okay God, you made your point. The God who breathed the stars and knows each personally by name, is near me, hears me, loves me and is interested in every desire of my heart. How grateful and humbled am I!
Talk to God. He may just hand you a star.
