I find that the older I get, the more I delight in simple things. In my youth, hours were spent planning, longing and worrying about BIG THINGS- CAREER, MARRIAGE, MORTGAGE, FAMILY, BILLS, RETIREMENT....
My days now are spent enjoying small things, simple things. I look forward to getting up early on weekends when the house is still silent and dark. I prepare my favorite cup of coffee and treat and sit and read. I smile as I watch my dog Joy dream at my feet. I love the first days of autumn when the air has that certain scent of nostalgia. I look up to watch a flock of geese fly in "V" formation above me in a pristine blue sky. I study the beauty of a zinnia and marvel at the tiny insect dwarfed within its petals.
I delight in simple things. It's simply this woman's way.
